My friend asked me
"Shall I color the September?"
I'm a little hard of hearing
I said, "Yeah, Colors of September"
If she ever noticed the slip,
She never said a word
And I'll bet a million dollars
The world went its' way
And September promptly got its colors!
All would be fine
'Cept that Mr. P was around.
Not a soul seemed to care
But HE heard the sound.
With eyes the size of cabbages
He bounced like a clown
Hands flailing, high-tailing
He sent word to town!
But for two good friends
Who understood each other...
All we cared for, was that
September got its' colors.
And the next month
October got colored too....
